Your collagen induction therapy face and neck treatment involves using a handheld pen affixed with tiny needles to create controlled micro-injuries on the surface of the skin. These micro-injuries trigger the body's wound healing process, which includes the production of collagen and elastin.This 60-minute treatment includes pre numbing the skin for optimal results, our signature double cleanse using warm facial towels, microneedling treatment of the face & neck using hyaluronic serums, for optimal results I include a post treatment Mask. How is my skin after a needling treatment?
- Day 1: Its is common to experience some redness, you will want to go home after your treatment and relax. No makeup. Change to a fresh pillow case.
- Day 2: Redness is still present but significantly reduced compared to day one. Avoid using serums and makeup. Only cleanse and moisturize/SPF.
- Day 3: Most redness should have subsided by now. As your skin continues to heal, you might experience some dryness and peeling. It is safe to begin applying makeup and using serums. At this stage, your skin may have a slightly uneven texture.
- From Day 4 to Day 7, you might notice that your skin is slightly dehydrated and experiencing some flaking or peeling. To address this, gently pat down any flaky skin with moisturizer and allow it to naturally come off when you cleanse your face. Avoid the temptation to pick or peel the flakes, as doing so can lead to hypo or hyperpigmentation.
- Day 8: You can now exfoliate and should start to see the results of your needling and improved looking skin. It takes a minimum of three sessions to see results. The process of skin damage occurs over many years, therefore it is necessary to undergo multiple sessions in order to repair the dermis and skin cells.
How do I prepare my skin for microneedling?
- No Accutane, Doxycycline or Isotretinoin
- No Topical prescription retinol less than 4 weeks prior
- No sunburn
- No cold sores
- No active dermatitis psoriasis or eczema in the area being treated
- No Botox or Dermal Filler in the last month
- Please tell me if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
What is the post treatment aftercare?
- Prioritize SPF protection after treatment to prevent damage to newly formed skin and collagen.
- After your treatment, it is important to avoid wearing makeup for 48 hours.
- NO active AHA’s, BHA’s, Retinol, or Vitamin C for 3 days.
- Avoid exfoliating your skin for one week. Instead, focus on moisturizing your skin and staying hydrated by using a moisturizer and drinking plenty of water.
- As soon as you return home, make it a priority to change your pillowcase. This simple action can greatly reduce the risk of infection following a needling procedure.
- If you have any shedding/flakey skin, pat it down with moisturiser. Let it come off naturally when you cleanse. DO NOT peel this off, you can cause hyperpigmentation.
- NO swimming, saunas, steam rooms, gyms/exercise for 24 hours
- Handle your skin delicately. The sensation might be akin to sunburn, so it is important to allow your body's natural wound response to initiate the healing process.
- For a period of 7 days, it is recommended to avoid using topical prescription creams on the treated area.
How many treatments are required?
In order to see results, you should get at least 3-4 microneedling treatments that are spaced out every 4–6 weeks. Due to the nature of the treatment, your skin needs ample time to heal between treatments. For the average person, that will be around the one month mark.
For maintaing results I suggest 1 to 2 supporting treatments every 2-6 months
